چکیده

In this paper, we consider an optimization of grasping by using a required external force set. By using the set, we can not only deal with whatever a desired grasp is, such as force closure or equilibrium grasp, but also evaluate the magnitudes of the resistible external forces and moments. Then, we define an optimization problem from the viewpoint of decreasing the magnitudes of the contact forces required to resist the required external force, and show that we can solve the problem by using a branch-and-bound method. Lastly we present some numerical simulations to show the validity of

Optimization of Grasping an Object by Using Required Acceleration and Equilibrium-Force Sets

In this paper, we search optimal grasp points and configurations of fingers for not only resisting an external force applied to a grasped object but also generating a desirable acceleration of the object. Based on the concept of required external force set, we define required acceleration and equilibrium-force sets. By using the sets, we formulate an optimization problem from the viewpoint of d...

Dextrous hand grasping force optimization

— A key goal in dextrous robotic hand grasping is to balance external forces and at the same time achieve grasp stability and minimum grasping energy by choosing an appropriate set of internal grasping forces. Since it appears that there is no direct algebraic optimization approach, a recursive optimization, which is adaptive for application in a dynamic environment, is required. One key observ...

Dikin-Type Algorithms for Dextrous Grasping Force Optimization

One of the central issues in dextrous robotic hand grasping is to balance external forces acting on the object and at the same time achieve grasp slability and minimum grasping effort. A companion paper shows that the nonlinear friction-force limit constraints on grasping forces are equivalent to the positive definiteness of a certain matrix subject to linear constraints. Furthe~ compensation o...

Multi-fingered robot hand optimal task force distribution: Neural inverse kinematics approach

Grasping and manipulation force distribution optimization of multi-fingered robotic hands can be formulated as a problem for minimizing an objective function subject to form-closure constraints, kinematics, and balance constraints of external force. In this paper we present a novel neural network for dexterous hand-grasping inverse kinematics mapping used in force optimization. The proposed opt...

Minimization of the Sheet Thinning in Hydraulic Deep Drawing Process Using Response Surface Methodology and Finite Element Method

In most of the sheet forming processes, production of the parts with minimum thickness variation and low required force is important. In this research, minimization of the sheet thinning and forming force in the hydraulic deep drawing process has been studied. Firstly, the process is simulated using the finite element method (FEM) and simulation model is verified using the experimental results....
